Management Team

Mr. Ananta Charan Mishra is the Executive Vice President and Plant Head at MCPI Private Limited. He joined the organization in 2017 and has over 40 years of rich experience in various Refining and Petrochemical process operations, Corporate Planning, Optimisation of supply chain, Project evaluation and implementation.

Prior to joining MCPI, Mr. Mishra spent 34 years with Indian Oil Corporation, where he held several leadership positions and concluded his tenure as Executive Director of Haldia Refinery. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from NIT Rourkela.

Mr. Pandya is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at MCPI Private Limited. He joined the organization in 2022 and brings over 20+ years of experience in finance domain.

Prior to joining MCPI, he worked with DSP Merrill Lynch, ITC Classic Finance, Institute of Molecular Medicine and Chatterjee Management Services Private Limited. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India.

Mr. Ambar Baran Bhowmik is the Senior Vice President and Deputy Plant Head at MCPI Private Limited. He joined the organization in 1998 and has over 27 years of experience in PTA plant operations, design, construction, commissioning, stabilization, optimization, and debottlenecking.

He has worked for two years at Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation Technology Center, Kurosaki, Japan for designing PTA plants. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He is attached with Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IICHE) as life member. He is also connected with Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A), as Executive Alumni.

Mr. Sumit Dutta Gupta is the Chief Information Officer at MCPI Private Limited. An industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, he has held senior positions at Reliance Industries Limited, Rolta India Ltd., AEGIS Ltd., CRM Trilogix Inc. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in International Business from IIFT, Delhi and Master of Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi.

Mr. Nabendu Dasgupta serves as the Head – Procurement and Raw Materials at MCPI Private Limited. He joined the organization in 2015 and has nearly 40 years of experience in Commissioning and Operation of Chemical Plants, Quality Assurance & Laboratory, Procurement, IT, and HR.

Prior to joining MCPI, he worked with ICI Limited, Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Ltd, Kesoram Industries Ltd. and Kesoram Industries Ltd., where he last served as the Factory Head of the Rishra Plant. He holds a degree in Chemistry from Calcutta University, B.Tech in Polymer from Science College, Calcutta, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Institute of Modern Management, Kolkata.

Mr. Goutam Kar is the Senior Vice President and Group Head – Strategic Initiative at MCPI Private Limited. He joined the organization in 2020 and brings over 29 years of experience in driving global projects in Design & Engineering, Petrochemical, Power, Energy and Transmission & Distribution sectors.

Prior to joining MCPI, he worked with Graphite India Ltd., Philips Carbon Black Ltd., Mitsubishi Chemicals (MCC PTA India), M.N Dastur & Co Pvt Ltd, Areva T&D India (Presently GE Grid, erstwhile Alstom Grid India), Development Consultants Pvt. Ltd. (DCPL), Tractebel Engineering - India and UAE (erstwhile Lahmeyer International). He holds a degree in MBA from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal University, India, and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E Electrical) degree from Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, North Bengal University, India.

Mr. Koustav Acharya is the Senior Vice President and Head of Centre of Excellence – Polyester Division at MCPI Private Limited. He joined the organization in 2025 and brings over 39 years of overall experience in integrated Polyester Projects for Project Management, Operation Management, Business Development, Differentiated Product Development, due diligence for M & A, Client Servicing, Quality Assurance and Resource Management in the Polyester Industry and other synthetic fibre domain.

Prior to Joining MCPI, he was associated with M/S Modern Poly Industries and Modern Syntex Ltd as Plant and Project Head and was based at Bangladesh. Prior to that he had been associated with PT Indorama Synthetics Ltd for more than 20 years and was based in Indonesia, Modern Petrofils for two years, Petrofils Cooperative Limited ( A subsidiary of IPCL) for eight years. He holds a bachelors in Textile Technology (Hons & Gold Medallist) from Calcutta University.

Supriya Dasmal is the Senior Vice President and Group Head – Engineering at MCPI Private Limited. Since joining the organization in 1999, he has been instrumental in driving engineering excellence and operational reliability.

With over 27 years of expertise, he specializes in mechanical maintenance, debottlenecking, condition monitoring of rotary and static equipment, preventive and predictive maintenance, asset reliability, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

Prior to joining MCPI, he has worked with H. L. Malhotra & Sons Ltd. and Consolidated Fibres & Chemicals Ltd., gaining valuable experience in industrial operations & maintenance. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from B.E. College, Shibpur.

Mr. Sanjeeb Choudhury is the Vice President and Group Head – HR at MCPI Private Limited. He joined the organization in 2024 and has over 33 years of experience in the realm of Human Resources and Employee Relations covering all facets of HR activities.
 
Prior to joining MCPI, he worked with India Foils Limited, MCC PTA India Corp. Private Limited and Greenply Industries Limited. He also founded an HR Consulting LLP firm and spent three years managing it before returning to the industry. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Mumbai University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from IGNOU.

Mr. Dhrubajyoti Chatterjee is the Vice President and Head – Marketing and Business Development at MCPI Private Limited. He joined the organization in 2013 and brings over 25 years of extensive experience in business development, sales and marketing, procurement, and supply chain management in the Chemical and Petrochemical industries.

Prior to joining MCPI, he worked at Haldia Petrochemicals Limited, Nalco Chemicals, and Orica Mining Services Ltd (IEL). He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) degree from the Manipal Institute of Technology (MAHE, Manipal), Mangalore University, Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM) from the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Entrepreneurship (PGDME) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

Ms. Ananya Ganguly is the Vice President and Head of Finance at MCPI Private Limited. She joined the organization in 2011 and brings over more than 21 years of experience in Treasury, Tax Management, Product Costing, Ind As Accounting, and Corporate Restructuring. 

Prior to joining MCPI, she worked with Hiland Group, RSI Industries, and Polaron Marketing. A Chartered Accountant by profession, she also holds a Diploma in Systems Audit (DISA) from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Mr. Gautam Pal is the Vice President – Utility, SHE and Quality at MCPI Private Limited. He joined the organization in 1998 and brings over 30 years of experience in Power and Utilities in the Polyester and Chemical sectors, with cross-functional exposure in Operations, Projects, Safety, Environment and Quality. 

Prior to joining MCPI, he worked with Sanghi Polyesters Ltd, and Raymond Synthetics Ltd. He also worked for two years at MCC Technology Center, Kurosaki, Japan. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Government Engineering College, Jabalpur and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Entrepreneurship from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

Mr. Sujit Kumar Haldar serves as the Head – Logistics and oversees 132 kV grid coordination with the electricity provider at MCPI Private Limited. He joined the organization in 2019 has over 35 years of experience in Plant Operations, Maintenance Management, Erection & Commissioning, Project Planning & Execution, and Site Management at high Voltage substations, Power Plants, Ferro Alloy plants, and Chemical plants.

Prior to joining MCPI, he worked with Manikaran Power Limited, Pelican Associates Private Limited, MCC PTA India Corp. Private Limited, and Ispat Alloys Limited, Balasore. He holds a Degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur.
